HEAD COACH BILL O’BRIEN
Have RB Lamar Miller, DE Jadeveon Clowney, OLB John Simon and FB Jay Prosch practiced much this week?
“Not much, so I guess what we’ll do is when the injury report comes out you guys will see who’s questionable, who’s out, who’s doubtful, who’s day-to-day, who’s scratched, who’s healthy. You’ll get it all.”
How do you guard against a letdown in this week’s game when there isn’t much to play for?
“That’s where I guess I would disagree. I think there’s always something to be gained anytime you line up and play an NFL football game. I mean I think there’s always something to be gained. I think our guys will come out with good energy. I think it’s going to be a very tough game. I think it’s going to be a very physical game, but I think anytime you line up and play in the National Football League it’s very meaningful. That’s how I feel about it. I don’t really care what anyone else thinks. I think that’s respect for the game and I know that this is a very tough team we’re going against. They want to finish with a winning record. We want to finish with 10 wins. That’s going to be a tough game.”
You just talked about the team and staff having good energy. Is that something you have seen throughout the week from both the team and the staff?
“Yeah. Our guys practice hard. They go at it in practice. Very competitive. Lot of energy. Lot of spirit. That’s the way it’s been. Those guys – they do a good job of that. Really appreciate the way our players show up every day in practice. That’s been one of the things that has helped us over the last three years. That’s what it’s been all week.”
What would it mean for you guys to get to 10 wins?
“I think it’s important. I think that the first two years here with this coaching staff, we’re 9-7, these players. And to take a step towards a double-digit win season would be important so I think it’s important.”
