HOUSTON – The Houston Texans have signed G/T Jeff Adams and CB Charles James to contract extensions. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Adams has played in four career games, making two starts for the Texans since being claimed off waivers on Aug. 31, 2014. In 2015, he started the first two games of the season before being placed on Injured Reserve on Sept. 26. He also played in two games in 2014. Adams was originally signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a rookie free agent on April 30, 2012 and spent time on the practice squads of the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans prior to joining the Texans.

James played in nine games and made his first career start for the Texans in 2015. For the season, he finished with 14 tackles (seven solo), one pass defensed and one tackle for loss on defense, while adding five tackles on special teams. He also helped down numerous punts inside the 20-yard line throughout the year. In Houston’s Week 10 victory over Cincinnati, James set a single-game career-high with six tackles (four solo) and notched his first career tackle for loss. James was originally signed by the New York Giants as a rookie free agent in 2013 and played in 12 games, making four special teams tackles in his first year. He was released prior to the start of the 2014 season and spent the remainder of the season on the Texans practice squad.
